New or reman PCM sources?

Is anyone still fixing the PCM's for 1st gens, or do I need to try to find one from the dealer? (related to my grid heater troubles) I would rather have the system working as designed than have to manually preheat and post heat cycle with a push button.

When I was looking for one for mine, also a 91.5, I could not find one anyplace. The 91.5 is different than all the other ones, they don't control as much stuff. I believe there are 2 different ones, one for auto trans and one for manual. All the auto places had them listed but they could not get them. Cardone will rebuild your unit but I don't know the cost or down time. I had grid problems too and put them on a timer. Good luck

What did you do for a timer setup?

I found one at a place called "Fourth Generation Engineering", it was a few years ago but I don't remember it being too expensive. It was designed for glowplugs and came with a single 80 amp solinoid which I did not think was up to running the grid heaters so I used that solinoid to trigger the 2 existing solinoids on the truck. I also tied it into the wait to strart light so when other people use my truck it operates like factory. It also has a temperature sensor that keeps the grids on longer when it gets colder but it will also heat for a few seconds even when it's 80 or 90 degrees out so I disconnect it in the summer.
