I just picked up a 1989 w250 yesterday. single cab 4x4 auto. it is pretty darn clean with the exception of the flaking paint and the rust starting above the rear wheels. Is there any "free mods" i can do? thanks i will post pics up soon

Welcome to DTR.

Check out the stickies. You can find a bunch to do. Get the right gauges to insure that you keep it all in line.

Good group here to ask questions of as you move to the edge of the slippery slope.

You can make it drive like a whole different truck for less than $20. Like Rich said, look in the sticky under "Performance."

There is all sorts of "free" things that you can do, especially with an '89 with the larger injectors. I can't stress this enough though... get some gauges before you start any mods!! Other than that, do some searches, read the stickys, and ask all the questions you want. Welcome to DTR!

Oh yeah, fill out your signature so we can help guide you along better

i few 93 may have ended up with a Wh1c which had the 12cm WG housing... the 89s would be the "baby" h1c and for sure did not have a silencer ring. unless someone swapped the turbo, after 17ish years it is a possibility, it wouldn't have one..
