New oil pan fitment issues

Long story short i fell asleep and wrecked my truck into a telephone pole at 70 mph. Truck did keep on driving afterwards:cool:. Anyways, I'm fixing it. When i hit the front axle u bolts bent and shot my axle into the oil pan leaving some nice creases in the pan. So as of now i got the truck the whole way done but am having problems with the oil pan

I pulled the oil pan and ordered a new on.

Old Number on pan was 3914403

New pan number is 4089093

The new pan number was supered to 3949338 i was told

I am told this pan should fit my truck but it seems as the sump is about two inches too short and it is hitting my oil pick up tube? Any sugggestions or has anyone had this problem

I got lucky and my tranny guy had an extra pan around that I got cheap. I'd be taking that pan in along with your old one and get it straightened out or maybe go aftermarket deep pan.

It sound like they gave you a 2nd gen oil pan, whose sump is shorter than the 1st gen's.

okay. ill check into it more. i was told this pan would work for all 5.9 cummins engines as it was the new "interchangable" pan
