You all have heard this before, but I am new to the diesel world. I have a 1993 D350 extended cab dually with auto tranny and 3.55 rears. I pull a 13k plus 5th wheel and am looking to do mods to increase power and such. I have heard about torque springs, injectors and such and am wondering what would be the best mods to do and in what order. I have installed a K&amp;N filter in the stock air box and the truck does have some sort of tranny cooler under the bed on the drivers side that has a fan.<br><br><br>I appreciate all the help you guys can give me... I am located in central Alabama and am looking for a reputable mechanic that may or may not be needed for the mods.<br><br>D..

1) Get some gauges<br>-Pyro gauge to monitor the EGT's, install the thermocouple pre-turbo<br>-Boost gauge<br>-Transmission gauge<br>2) Change to a smaller turbo housing (16, 14 or 12)<br>3) A set of injectors (POD's or PW's)<br>4) Set pump timing to 1.4 -1.7<br>4) increase the rpm to 2900<br>6) if the truck has the original exhaust replace it with a mandrel bent pipe and go to 3.5&quot; or larger.<br><br>In addition injection pump can be turned up<br><br>These are just a few basics for starters.<br>---<br>Al

Welcome D..,<br>All the above, but with heavy towing you'll probably want the 16cm2 or stock turbo housing.<br>A good valve adjustment and advancing the timing &quot;1/8+&quot; really woke up my dog. :)<br>Chris

Yes for heavy towing I think the 16 housing would be best as you want to keep egt's in order. The 16 really helped my brothers truck with turbo spool up.<br><br>Paul

Holsteinman,<br><br>How does your exhaust should with the 4&quot; on the stock down pipe? Did it add a little power to your truck?<br><br>D.

First off I bought the truck with the exaust the way it is now. I don't think you will really get anymore power, but I think a deeper tone. I like how it sounds, so as long as I do not have any trouble with the cops I will leave it the way it is.
