New 1st gen. diesel owner

I just found this forum and thought I say hey. I just bought a 93 Ram 250 with 44,000 on it. This is my first diesel I've drove much less bought. There doesn't seem like a lot of aftermarket parts that I could find for these but I'm sure they are out there. After I repaint it and find or build a front bumper/brush guard, I'm going to get started on some power mods since I'm using it as a work truck nothing to crazy but it sounds like fun!

In Geico fashon,

Welcome to DTR!

And now that we have that over with, you'll want to get gauges for it before you turn the fuel up. You'll need at least a pyrometer.

Oh, and it will help everyone if you fill out your signature by going to "User CP" and then "Edit Signature".

44,000 miles sounds great!

Welcome! And it only has 44,000 on it??!!! It hardly isn't broken in yet. You will hardly find anything for our truck because the engine is so simple to mod up. Check out the sticky at the top of the forum for simple upgrades like the injection pimp. Net the quickest and least costly (just your time) power good for about 50 hp.

Fill out your sig with what it has, auto or manual, Std or Ext cab, etc.

Again, Welcome!

Jon

Sure it isnt reading 44K for the second time around? Just kidding, though it wouldnt be the first truck to do that. Welcome to the club. Do a few searches and you will find a mountain of information.

Thank you for all the info.

It looks like it has spent a lot of time on the farm and on dirt roads. I think the PO parked it under a pine tree when not in use, the paint has seen better days. The interior looks new still but the outside needs help.

The paint is a problem on the '93s. Mine was looking pretty sad and I tried touching it up with Rustoleum but that wouldn't stay on oether. Then I loaned it to my Dad and he did me the favor of washing it with a high pressure spray. Eeeek, I could hardly recognize it with so much paint gone. It was probably lighter though.
