neutral safety switch??

Hey guys im new to the forum and new to the diesel world. I just recently picked up a 1993 dodge cummins W250. It is an automatic. (518)

I will try to post pics later so y'all guys can check it out.

Ok so here is the deal, My truck is starting in neutral but not in park. It was working a few days ago starting up in park and then all of the sudden it stopped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Tyler

Check the shifter linkage on the trans, sometimes they come loose,
need to tighten the clamp bolt.

I agree with checking the linkage and insure the adjustment is proper. loosen the clamp rod and slide the linkage on the trans all the way to rear of the trans. That should be park, tighten the clamp rod and if it starts you're good to go.

It cost me $200 to have my "rooster comb" replace. that included labor and filter/oil. That was a whole different issue than what you have though, my trans would not come out of park and that assembly broke.
