I just bought a W250 that runs, but wont make the 500 mile drive home. I want to drive up and tow it back with my 1992 D250. I looked at the trailers you can rent from U-Haul but the W250 weighs too much. Any suggestions of where to look to rent a trailer that can hold that truck? I am in Los Angeles.

Look around for a company that sells new trailers, horse, cargo, car, etc. Lots of times they have regular car trailers that can be rented. This is what I do when I'm doing my old car shuffle twice a year between my house and storage.

Thanks for the idea. I found a 8ft by 24 foot one down here on craigslist. Was hoping to find one up there and only have to tow it one way. Luckily the guy knocked off $500 for me to go up and get it. I ended up getting the truck as a whole, this way I can get ride of the 1993 as a complete truck.

The bad smoke could be a simple thing....maybe a hole in the fuel supply letting air in....bad injectors...or even bad fuel?

I hope so. Says it has about 300,000 miles on it, so not to sure what the condition will be like, but I do have an extra engine if need be. I definitely have a lot of learning and work a head of me.

I told Richie I should have enough extra parts by the end of this for him to start building one.
