Need Some Fuel System Help and Part #s

Hello, my 91 CTD has developed a slight start hesitation. It used to start as soon as I hit the starter but now I have to crank it 5-10 secs to get it to start. I m thinking its a fuel drainback problem. After looking over my rusty fuel lines I figured it would probebly be best to just replace all the lines from the tank to lift pump and maybe a new lift pump but I have a few questions.

1. What kind of fuel line do you recommend to use?

2. I looked over the article on replacing your stock LP with the improved one but I wasnt sure if this was ok to use with a stock truck or if it was more for a modified one?

3. anyone have a stock # for the fuel tank straps? Fuel Sending Unit?

Thanks

Not sure, but IIRC, I think I remember seeing somewhere awhile back the pickup/sending/vent unit is no longer available from Dodge. So if you need that your only options are repair, eBay, or scrapyard. As far as pumps are concerned, the sky's the limit depending on your budget and skills, but just about anything compatible with diesel is gonna work. Same for line - anything diesel compatible. Stainless if you can afford it, rubber will work just as well. The low pressure piston pump is the most compatible, reliable, and easiest to install upgrade for the 1st Gen. There's vendors selling high-end pump/filter systems that may try to convince you otherwise, but they are really cost prohibitive and overkill for these trucks, even in fairly well-modded form.

The one bad thing abut these year trucks is finding some parts can be a real PITA. I have yet to find a sourcefor either tank straps or the sending unit...
