Need a measurement...harmonic balancer

I trying to install my tach kit, and I need to put the magnets 180* apart. I can't get an accurate measurement, so I'm hoping someone has a spare balancer, or a motor they can get easy access too.

My motor is a 89, so not sure if a different balncer was used for Non-IC and IC trucks?

Once I have the measurement I can use basic math to figure out 1/2 my circumference, then cut a piece of tape to the exact measurement, lay it on the balancer and viola...180* apart!!

Take the damper off, it's 4 bolts. Then you can just lay a straightedge across it. Honestly it is not that critical. If they are at 170/190 the tach will still work fine.

Well I ended up using an old seamstresses nylon measuring tape I forgot I had in the top of the tool box. My balancer measured out at almost 26" circumference, so I made a mark then taped the nylon measuring tape at that mark, measured 13" and made another mark...done!!

Applied the 2 part epox and magnets, now will wait 24Hr or so to let it set up, not that I need to fire it up since it's up in the air with no upper control arms or tie rods....

Thanks for the advice guys.

It's at the front of the crank. The pulley for the belt is part of it.

Also known as the crank damper, which is probably more correct since our engines are internally balanced.
