Need help fast!!!
All righty ive ran into a slioght problem. Ive got a 89 cummins that i put new bosch 40hp injectors in 2 weeks ago. I also did a valve adjustment and tweaked the pump a little more while i was doin everything. The truck has been running great till today when it started getting a miss in it. It runs all right but had one heck of a miss to it. I dont hear the noise from the engine but you can hear it from the intake and the exhaust so what do i need to do? thanks for any and all help
You might have a dirty injector. With the truck running crack the injector line loose, VERY CAREFULLY, you should hear a difference in the way it runs with each one. If you crack one and the running condition doesn't change then that injector is your culprit.
Check in recent threads started by maxx250 I think that he had a injector go bad and a couple people explained what to look for. I will look for the tread and give you the link.

all righty thanks guy yall said the same thing i thought to try. I just hadnt tried them yet cause one its getting late and 2 i like to check with the guys that know theses things.
well guys i opened up the injector line today and when open all of them changed the tune of the engine. I also rechecked valves to make sure i hadnt over tightened one and everything was in good shape. I decided too drive the truck down the road to see what i twas actually doing and the truck was just dead. She would build boost but was cutting out pretty bad and blowing a whitish gray smoke. I figure its fuel cause it doesnt smell like antifreeze. It would also pop oncein awhile out the exhaust kinda like a back fire. so where do i go next?

I am leaning towards fuel filter. Mine plugged awhile ago, and it plugged fast. Ran fine from a stop sign and like 5 miles later could only go about 50 then 45 then 40...... When you tried to accelerate it blew white/ grey smoke. It was wierd cause it sounded like a gasser that was running out of fuel. Just kind of droned when you pushed the pedal farther than you had fuel to go. It did some poping too.
Is it posible that when it runs low on fuel pressure in the pump that the timing retards and that causes the white smoke? Or is it something else.

Yes, I would say fuel blockage. I had an 8.3 on a truck that was white smoke, missing and poor acceleration/power. It was picking up crud in the tank and it plugged 2 filters before the the tank got cleaned.Fuel filter should help.
Definitley fuel related bro,Ive been dealing with this mess for weeks now,had a bad #1injector ,changed it out,I still have white smoke (not as bad though)and the truck actually seems to run good, but still have a slight miss.I cracked my injectors last night and now Im thinking my # 3 has got some issues as well.Im gonna change the filter too just to eliminate that. This is all after putting in a new IP as well

injectors and reinstalling your stock injectors to see if that is the problem.
