Need a BOMB plan that still alows towing

I'm getting ready to drop some cash on my 93 to make it tow stronger.

The trans will be beefed first.

A 4 inch straight exhaust is a given too.

I did gauges already.

What injectors and turbo will be good for towing medium to heavy? Say 8 to 10k trailer weight max. I don't really want to drive with my eyes glued to the EGT either. Is this even possible?

My old 02 was an HO and had Edge EZ box. I want this truck to pull as strong as that one did.

Thanks,
Kevin

Start here and turn it up till your happy with the power or EGT's become a problem.

them this.

them if it's still not snappy enough bump the time a 1/8

some were along this line your going to neeed to replace the POS factory torque converter and a shift kit or a replacement valve body!

Acutually tranny should be your first step so that the power you have is getting to the ground!!!!!!

this is hard to do because all the rest of the previous bomming steps are FREEEEEEEEE

If you want to have the pulling power of your or your bommed 02 it going to caust you more then the free stuff

Better turbo(Call High Tech Turbos...HTT) your going to need EDM stick(Injectors) better intercooler.

Start with the Free stuff and the tranny stuff first then see how much power you need form there.

Welcome the the Quick start first gen club.......if it don't start with a bump of the starter.....there's something wrong!!!

190's and an HTT Stage 3 or 4 will pull good and EGT won't be bad if you don't crank the pump up too much. You can keep the stock turbine housing or drop to a 16 if you want a little more response.

I got dyno readings (rear wheels) of 308hp & 668 tq on my 92 this way:

1. 16cm2 housing & pump tweaking
2. Superduty transmission cooler (under the bed, with fan) to control temps
3. DTT Torque Converter (89%) and DTT Valve Body to control the trans
4. ATS exhaust manifold
5. PODS (others will say you don't need this much, I wanted it)
6. Rebuilt pump with 3200rpm spring, timed @ 15* (by PDR)
..... suffered head gasket leak here, so the head & valves were reworked
7. Four-inch exhaust from mid-downpipe back, BHAF

Next will most likely be the HTT Stage IV.

This leaves out all the normal maintenance and non-drivetrain-related upgrades done to the truck.

I tow a 7500# fifth-wheel but hate to be lagging behind or slowing people down.

This is just the way I went, I might do it differently if I did it again.

Regards, DBF
