Neapco U-Joints

Anyone run Neapco's in there truck?

Had a little misunderstanding at the driveline shop today and they ended up putting in Neapco's in the double cardin end of the front shaft instead of the spicers I usually run.

Should I worry?? You guys know how I use my truck, I'm not very nice to it.

They are 2nd choice to Spicer IMO.

I have heard they are made in your state. I wouldn't hold that against them though.

The guy said if I busted em he'd replace them so...... we'll run em hard.

I think they are made in Beatrice. According to the guys at the Inland store up here, Spicers have been made in Mexico for awhile now. They swear that the Neapco's are a better joint...

Yeah I knew that Spicer production had moved to Mexico.

Yep Beatrice, I did a little reasearch after Curt posted. Well at least I'm supporting the local economy.

The Inland guys here in Lincoln said the same thing, thing is I've never had a lick of trouble with Spicers, heck I've never broke a Spicer joint I broke the rear pinion first then broke a D80 yoke with the same joint that busted the pinion! I usually just spit the needle bearings out of the small joint on the front pinion but that is cause of extreme pinion angle and severe load on the little guy.

I had them put in my drive shaft because A-1 Driveshaft ran out of spicer, they claim that they are pretty good joints.

Andrew, how bad is your drive shaft angle? Mine vibrates so bad that I don't like driving with the hubs locked. Does yours do that?

I have a pretty severe angle, severe enough thet the slip yoke on the shaft has worn a spot on the straps. Mine only vibrates when I got my spare shaft in which has a worn out slip and stub, With my good shaft it doesn't vibrate at all even at 70. I've had my spare shaft in since late last winter.

Well after joints, a new ball kit, new pinion seal, 1 busted breaker bar and a busted Snap-On rachet its done at a cost of 155$ price includes the Harbour Freight breaker bar.
