Nasty grinding noise in all shifter positions
10 days and 2225 miles later (with a 35' TT in tow) and the clutch and tranny still seem to be working fine. Currently parked outside DC with another 2 days and 1260 miles to go before arriving back home. Haven't run final calculations yet but getting somewhere around 12mpg towing. If this hasn't broken it in, nothing will. Definitely time for a 3KGS, some new injectors and that HX35/16. Another report when I get back home.
Finished off the trip with 3520 miles on the new clutch and transmission rebuild and both performed as they should. Time will tell whether this 12" clutch will hold up as promised but it handled the 35' travel trailer just fine on this trip.
It's good to see that there is another DTR user close in case of emergency. I live near Stillwater. Let me know if you start outgrowing some parts. I am a new CTD owner, and the 92 I bought is bone stock (as far as I know.)

Updating an old thread with a new issue.
I now have about 5150 miles on the Getrag, nearly all of them towing a travel trailer and it's still doing well, EXCEPT, I noticed yesterday while taking a rest stop on a drive thru the Texas panhandle that the Getrag is now leaking.
(Builder's tip - high temp gloss black paint on your transmission case looks nice but sure makes finding a leak difficult.)
I determined this morning that the primary leak is coming from between the case and the rear housing (where the shims are). It's also seeping around one of the PTO covers. Yes, the bolts are tight. This made me think back to when I first filled it up and noticed that the other PTO cover was leaking. Since it was still on blocks at that time, I drained it, RTV'd the one cover, and refilled it and it seemed good to go.
I used Permatex #2 non-hardening gasket sealer on all of these locations and now I'm thinking that was a bad choice. My reason for choosing that over RTV was to avoid RTV strings floating around inside and plugging a passage. I've been running Castrol Syntec 5W50 with PowerUp additive in it since it was rebuilt.
Can anyone tell me (assuming that I can keep fluid in this thing long enough to tow a travel trailer 700+ miles from Albuquerque, NM back to east central OK) whether it is even possible to reseal the rear housing w/o pulling the entire transmission?
Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to seal those drips to get me home w/o pouring lots of oil thru it?

Can't help on the seal issue, but the shop that rebuilt my Getrag recommended (strongly!!) to put a quart of slick50 in first, then top it off with the 15W40 Delo that I run in the engine. Was rebuilt at 75K, minor issue with loose countershaft bearing at 100K, now at 145K with no issues. Most of my miles are towing, either my boat or a 30' 5th wheel trailer (approx 12K pounds). I get 14-15 towing, and 21-22 hwy running empty (or towing empty boat trailer to Sacremento).
