My new 32x48 1st Gen Storage Facility.... ;)

Since I was asked to do up a thread when I began the new shop build I figured I better get on it since it started yesterday.

I have a contractor doing the concrete work, 4'6" frost/foundation wall and then interior slab, they are also erecting the shop package I purchased. Found a local company that builds the structures in 8' wall sections and then ships those finished sections to be stood up and assembled on site, they also build the trusses. I had them build me my shop 32W x48L with 14' ceilings and all walls are 2x6.....comes with everything including trusses and sheeting for the roof.

So day one.....guys showed up with machine and dug the trenches for the foundation walls. Took them about 4 hours.

Wow! Looks ike a pro operation with the pumper truck and all.
Your soil looks nice for building on, dry and sandy for drainage without lots of big rocks.

Glad to see the shop going up, as I know you are going to love it.

Nice!!! I'm a bit jealous though, just got done having a friend do all the concrete work for a 24' X 30'. Would have loved to go bigger but the pocketbook didn't like the idea. Hope to start framing next week.

Finally, a dream turns into reality! Good for you, TC!! Thanks for posting up pics.

Are you plumbing in a sink at all in your shop?

No plumbing....with it right next to the house I didn't see any reason for the added expense and hassle.

Looking good, just think how much easier it,s going to be putting a cummins in Sno-ball not having to roll the motor uphill in your driveway lol, just remember to put a BIG lock on the door so it dosen't become a storage facility for the wife.

TCows, are you having a concrete slab poured in place between those footings? Curious, as I’ve never seen that type of set up, in CA anyway.

Curious to know how many yards of concrete those footings came out to be. My neighbor, who is building a mansion of a home at a mountain behind me, his footings alone were a 108 yards, if I recall. He’s got the $$, as his company just landed all the manufacture of night vision and heat seeking goggles for feds and military. Crazy.
