mirror change ups
my 91 has the tripod mounted mirrors which don't get the mirror out very far around my service deck. i
i have seen pictures of a quad mounted mirror that looks like it gets the mirror out further and would allow for mounting of a convex mirror.
which trucks came with these mirrors?

I dont know if there was any rhyme or reason as to which trucks came with what mirror. I had a 93 250 gasser had the quad mount mirrors. I currently have a 91 d350 with the little power mirrors that are useless. And I looked at a 93 d350 today that had the quad mount. good luck
Here is a 4.5" mirror extension for those tripods you have,

In my opinion, the four-legged stainless Ford mirrors are superior to the versions of the same set-up used on Dodge and GM.
The mounting looks less "tacky" and the shank on the head is longer/taller.
Whichever one you find, mount them as far forward as the door will allow, thus you don't have to always be cramming your head against the back glass to see in the mirror.
I find these four-point wide-load mirrors at swap-meets all the time and buy every one I see that is not over-priced; a man can never have too many spares.

Genuine West Coast mirrors are another good choice.
I absolutely abhor the trashy-looking plastic junk that tries to pass for mirrors on later model trucks; they are a joke.
