I have a sunpro mechanical oil pressure gauge, its a 0-100 psi, it was origionally going to go on my other truck, but since my stock gauge sucks, i was wondering if it would work on my 91 cummins? If so, how do i install it? Does it just install in place of the old electric sending unit? When i pull the old on out, will oil come out of the hole?

 

Passenger side of engine, oil filter adaptor/cooler. On top of it there's a 1/8npt pipe plug. Remove, thread in your fitting and tubing. You don't mess with the driverside OEM sending unit.

 

Ok, where exactly is this located? Right above my oil filter, there is a small bolt. Is this it? if so, do i just remove that, and thread in the 1/8" tap for the oil pressure line?

 

Ever changed your oil filter? On top of that.

 

My tired old engine pegs a 100psi gauge when cold...might look for something that goes higher.

 

i already have the 100 psi gauge, so ill use that for now.

 

Also, what is the best way to hook up the light in the gauge?
