i went to my 1st drag race today with the 1st gen. best time was 10.54@ 70mph in the 1/8th mile. doesnt help that i have a 450k mile getrag and a shifter that sits 3 inches from the rear view mirror when its in 1st an 3rd lol o well, next race im racin the 01 after i get the fass system on. its an auto but i just thought id let you guys know how my 1st real race went with the "pulling" truck.

 

cool, what were your 60' times? You'd be surprised how quick some people can shift those getrags.
Is 10.5 quick or slow? i'm just not sure how that relates to the 1/4 mile as i'm not familiar.

 

My best 1/8 mile was 8.58 @ 82 mph.
Mine shifted much better with a lot of miles than after the rebuild.

To convert to 1/4 mile:
10.54 x 1.57 = 16.54 sec
70 x 1.25 = 87.5 mph

These are approx. but usually suprisingly close.

 

well when my shifter's lengthened so my hand is 3 inches away from the rear view in 1st and 3rd its kind of a long throw from 2nd to 3rd lol. im not too big on drag racing but it was fun. ill post a pic of my time slip later on tonight.
