Unhappy LOW FUEL LIGHT ON, tank full?

I finally got a chance to work the old girl today. Went to LOwe's and brought home a whole pallet of bagged quickcrete. When I got in the truck and started her up, the low fuel light came on. I had only driven 200 miles on a full tank and the gauge showed over a quarter tank left. I drove 30 miles with the load, 3600 pounds, on the axle. The light came on and went off and so on all the way to the farm and back home again after my son and I unloaded. I topped the tank off and it still comes on intermittently. Anyone got a clue. THe owner's manual anf the FSM didn't help.

I'd use my masterful troubleshooting abilities and predict... A bad electrical connection.

I agree, but where do I start? The messg. center plug is on all the way and the tank sending unit must be working OK. It is full and it says so. Could it be a ground grimlin?

There's a circuit behind the message center that runs the light. It's probably the culprit.

Thanks, Dave. I will work on it after I find some nice warm weather. The weather merchants are calling for some of that wintery type precipatation tomorrow and the wifey makes too much noise when I take her parking place.
