Loc-Tite Front Seal?

Going that route for when I get a 14mm pump installed for high inlet pressure. Who's running em? Just Red Loc-Tite and you're ready to go? Any tips or tricks?

JAyers 01-22-2010 08:32 PM

Ive got 4 pumps around home running them with good luck...30-60psi. Make sure you sand the paint off the edge of the seal before applying the Loc-Tite. Other then that just get it in straight and you should be good.

From what I read, its the same gig as JAyers just said. Make sure you have bare metal that is scratched up just a little for the loctite to bond to rather than paint. I've heard it's good for "40-60 psi" I think. More experienced personel will chime in I'm sure.

JAyers, that's 30psi at all times and RPMs right? How's that tuning coming, make any more power yet?

JAyers 01-23-2010 01:58 PM

Yes thats a constant 30psi at all times but thats as high as i would push the constant pressure side of things, use a boost ref for 30+psi.

JQmile, the old dodge spent 4hrs on a dyno in Ky around middle December. Since it wasnt on dunbars dyno theres no point in me giving the numbers out. Letts just say im closing in on 600hp mark. Ive got to do some R&D to push it to and over the big 6 tho, i need more fuel.

Do you know what kind of cc your pump puts out? And what's the thing with Dunbar's Dyno? It's just a dynojet. hp is hp man as long as you're not using a big correction factor or running on a dyno that is known to be off.

I like the mustang dyno at my local ( 1 hr away ) shop. It loads my engine hard. The gauges look like im on the street as far as egt and boost. I don't get the dunbar thing either. On my runs I have never seen a correction factor on the printout but Im at sea level so maybe there is none for that reason.

Yea i've never gotten the whole dunbar dyno joke either. I think its a 1stgen.org thing because if you didn't run on that dyno, your numbers don't count because thats the dyno the other "big boys" ran on.

It's not a just a 1stgen.org thing. On any of the big CTD sites the dunbar dyno is the right hand of God.

Pump puts out 360cc's on a Scheid bench.

The dyno was a dyno jet, I dont think there we a correction factor, id have to look at the sheets again. Started out at 510/1009 and 4hrs later we ended up getting 575/1198.

Good job and keep up the good work and R&D Josh.

Sounds like time well spent!

Thanks Bill!

And yes it is amazing what some timing adjustments, waste gate adjustments, and AFC adjustments will do for a truck.
