Lights flicker

My lights are flickering like something bad, and While I was adding another ground to the voltage reg, noticed it was pretty hot and the truck had not been running for better than an hour or so, is this normal?

BTW, the extra ground didnt help

I would start off by checking all the power conections and wires for a broken or loose wire. sometimes a poor coneection on either the positive or negetive will cause things to heat up and for the lights to flicker.
Hope it helps Ya!!

I would remove the voltage reg and look at the back side of it. if the back side has lots of bubbles or alot in one area, the odds are good and besides thay are cheap!

and like wheelo90 said, check all the ground and the power cable going to the alt. there shouldn't be any heat or hotter then the case of the alt., at the power feed bolt of the alt.
