Liftin' a D350
Hey Guys
Does anybody know if you can raise a 2wd 350? The rear end could be springs? Maybe from a W350 like Boatnik's?????? I do not want TALL blocks under it. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...0&ppuser=35490 Might not want but half the hight of his truck. What about the front end? I have already replaced the springs in the front. GW ] |
hey im not to sure you can raise the front end that much with out making the two front tires uneven, the top of the tire will angle out and the bottoms will angle inwards, basically they will look like this " \ / " making the outside edge of the tire wear quicker and it looks funny and probably not to safe.

Thanks for the quick reply
I was worried about that but you can never know with out askin'[dummy] . I have an 03 TT and it is higher than the truck, about 4" to 6". Reverse drop hitch would work but I think the truck is so low that the hitch would drag on the ground[laugh] . I am Not given' up my truck. GW |
So if I raised mine it would stop the fast wear to the outsides of my tires?

My previous truck was an '85 D250 gasser, the PO had installed the diesel springs and it had 9 leaf packs out back. Set level when I got it, about the height of a stock W250. Bad idea, I had to swap the front springs out to get it back down where it belonged. Pulled 3 leaves out of the rear, too.
If you lift it much more than an inch you can't get all the negative camber out of it. It'll tear up the insides of the tires. Plus it rides like crap because there is not enough droop in the suspension. Every time you come off a bump it's like driving off a cliff. You can lift the front a little (see ouchman's sig for info) to level the truck, but don't try to lift the whole thing. |
Thanks Wanna an Fury
Bout what I had thought. Guess it's time to rework the hitch on the TT. I looked at Ouchman's truck an it's about right. Maybe he will post later. GW |
carquest springs raised tdr member's front end.

Those are the strut rods, they will not affect ride height.
If you gained 4" then your springs were totally shot. [yuk] |
I did some searchin' and found the Daystar shims that Ouchman used. If I put those in and some 2 1/2" blocks in rear will that be alright? My truck sits level as it is now. O yea, the FT9119's also.
Thanks GW |
That ought to work OK. Expect some axle wrap with the blocks, though.
