Kill Cable
Kill Cable
Gave up on my FSS and couldn't bring myself to back the power screw out.
New kill cable installed. It's a PTO cable from Grainger. It's a solid wire instead of a braided cable, and it makes a ton of noise in the cab if it is mounted to the pump, so it's redneck mounted to the throttle linkage, but it works. Sure beats getting out to shut the truck off. It is a high quality cable though, and I'm thinking about buying another for high idle in the winter.

Pics under the hood?
I've been trying to come up with a way to have a manual cable for high idle. I've looked at a couple but they just didn't seem to be flexible enough to route up under the dash and out into the engine compartment.
I'm interested in what you did here, and if you go with a high idle cable as well...keep us posted.
