KDP tab kits
KDP tab kits
Who sells these with all materials and step by step information involved to tab? I read somewhere f a dude that sells these kits along with the tools needed to do the job. PDR's kit is only good for the 2nd Gens, or so I was told. Carmyne
To do the tab, you need very few tools (if it's like doing a '99); A socket set and a torque wrench (the latter for the harmonic balancer reinstallation) - it's pretty straightforward, and for parts - I bought mine from the local Cummins shop, needed the tab, the gasket for around the "face", and the front seal.
Unless you're talking about pinning (drilling and installing a pin so the KDP can't back out), I've heard of jigs for that....?

He has a complete kit with all you need to properly tab the pin plus his kit comes with a fan wrench and a fan pully holder which is worth it's weight in gold. His kit will come with the properly stepped tab for the first gen along with extra tabs so you can help out a few friends. It also includes the instructions, crank seal, locktite and rtv sealant. I used it on mine and it works great and I don't have to worry about anything in there anymore.
