Do a search on KDP. Also in the sticky is a link to doing the kdp on a second gen truck but it is very similar.

This is BC847 pic. I just did mine and it will work great!

The one on the sticky was more complicated, I like the one in the pic no kit necessary. Is it ok to use any kind of wire?

I used a regular heavy coat hanger. Just bend it up like so. ~

Contrary to what some might suggest, there are no loads of any sort on the part you're making. All you want to do is keep the pin from backing out of it's hole.
Some are successful with simply peening the metal around the pin's hole.

No big whoop.

It is a 93 so that will do. I was going to do the tab on mine but now I see that is a better trick. Any special torque on that bolt?

Thank You.

Or just buy the tab from your local Cummins shop for $1.65. Thats what I paid for one at Cummins Northwest here a week ago.

Or just peen it in with three whacks on a centerpunch at 12, 4 and 8 o'clock around the KDP hole. No worries, no hassle fiddling with extra parts under a bolt that could come out anyway.

I wonder if someone took care of this on my truck. Don't really have time before I go to school to tear it apart to find out though.

don't forget to loctite all the bolts while you are in there. those loosening up and falling into the timing gears will do just as much damage.
