kDP

The write up in the sticky on killing the kdp is not working. I didn't buy a kit. Just a gasket set. Should I make a tab, or just use a punch a dimple the whole?

if its resessed below the cover, just peen the hole over, if its out and cant be punched back in, just bend your own tab out of a piece of tin, just dont forget to pull and lock tight every bolt you can get to in there

I wish I could find the pic but basically what I did was drill the case above the pin, tap it and drive a SS bolt all the way against the KDP if it try to come off it will have a bolt pushing it IN. The tab can also come off, this is a bolt and cannot go sideways.

I just peened the aluminum it don't take much just enough to distort the hole so it can't fall out.

I usually just use a little gasket sealer and put it right back on.

I just did mine Tuesday. There is absolutely no way that tab can move unless the bolt holding it comes all the way out and at that point it wouldn't be the dowel pin you would have to worry about! In fact,I had a hard time getting the bolt in with tab because the tab fit the outer contour of the case so tightly.
102,ooo miles and the pin hadn't budged

KDP Killed. Heads up though admins; our write up link in the sticky is dead. It is probably time for one of our more savy members members to do a one and host is on this site.
