Just finished auto to getrag swap

I managed to trade my 518 t-case and other auto parts for the 5spd setup for the cost of driving 300 miles and lengthening one driveshaft. I even got a stack out of the deal. BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE TO MY TRUCK. The tranny has already been re manufactured once and has a performance LUK clutch with only 50,000 miles on it. It still looked brand new. So far, I have already topped off the transmission to the top pto bolt with 5w-30 amsoil. Everything works great and I drove back home with no issues. I do have some questions. First off, my new t-case has about an 1/8 freeplay up and down, side to side and the front output shaft; Is this normal? Next, one of the two small flathead alignment screws that are on the top of the shifter assembly is missing . Is it ok to drive like this and where can I source out a new screw? Any questions about my adventure, feel free to ask.

also, what turbo housing would you recommend. My truck runs 160* cooler so I want something that spools faster. I have to drive like im trying to conserve fuel through intersections now so as not to cover everyone in soot at low rpm.

slop in the input shaft is bad, could it be just a worn cuppler?
i'd run a 12cm w/g housing ported and drilled divider.

Is it the actual shaft or the yolk? Either way it is bad, there should be negligible play. Have you confirmed that the yolk nut is tight? If there is that much play I would expect it to be leaking oil.

Don't know about the shifter screws or anything like that, but I can confirm the 12cm housing is a good match for a stick truck with stock injectors. I have the wastegate bolted shut on mine and it is a blast to drive.

the yolk is tight. I cant tell if its leaking yet b/c the tcase is so dirty. What kind of egts should i expect? will the tighter housing help clear up the smoke?

Call Zumbrota Bearing and Gear, and talk to Craig. He may have some in stock. If that doesnt work, you can take some regular metric bolts of the right size and grind down the tip to fit in the shifter stub. I wouldnt run it long without the second bolt in there- it helps line your shifter and minimize slop in your shifting.
