I cut the front off of a ext cab headliner and the back off of a regular cab headliner so that they meet at that ridge that runs between the b pillars. Then I recovered both of them. I made a piece of trim to go across where they meet. I'll try and get some pics.

One of the thing I tried was to spray foam in side of the roof , I took the speedo cable from the old gas engine cut the ends of and slid it over the tip of the spray foam can.
Then slid the the plastic speedo up in side the roof in the top corners of the windshield. spray as you pull out slowly.

I more did this to make the roof more ridgid for doing the body work.

and Im going to try and make a head liner like Deking

I did the foam thing also. Mostly to stop the roof from "oil caning" when i was doing the body work.

Studs are for pulling the dent out. Stud welders work great.
So you just pull on them with a vise-grip?

Farmer0, I just bought some stuff called boom mat and it comes in a spray can. It is suppose to be like dynamat but in a can. I got it from advance auto. Here is the website.

http://www.designengineering.com/pro...sp?m=sp&pid=65

Give Advance the p/n on the website and the should be able to get it. If you don't have the p/n they won't have any idea and you will get the deer in the head lights look.

Sweet build...It seems I have fumbled over this thread the past few months for some reason.. Just had to tackle all 8 pages!! Looks really nice, Lots of work, but man is it worth it when its done... Only thing that sucks about finishing them.. You don't know what to do, because all your time was wraped up in the truck... I know all about the hard work, I just finished mine up in Nov.. Took me a yr!!

Question, It seems you are spraying everything in your shop.. What are you doing to keep everything so clean... Do you have some magical filtration system and some visqueen you are covering everything with??

Thanks ,
As for is it worth it :
-It gives me something to do other than watching dancing with the stars.
-I couldn't justify the cost of a new truck sitting around only getting used a few times a month and it would cost over 2k a year to insure around here.
( I'll most likely only insure the truck half a year anyway)
-I like 1st gens and crew cabs
-I got good deals on both trucks
-I have the space and time (construction contractor)
-I wanted something different
As for spraying the shop have had some dust in the paint but its been not to bad,
I"m planing on having the final paint done in a booth .
