Introductions to all!
Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and wanted to say hello. I am currently in the process of building a 1979 Dodge Power Wagon and have a 1992 Dodge W250 12V that I will be doing a body swap from the 79 to the 92. WISH ME LUCK!
Background:
The 79 was purchased by my brother, brand new off the showroom floor in 80. It was a hold over unit that had not sold. He has owned it and modded it over the years. However, once he finished college and went off to work, the truck sat around. He was a traveling RAD TECH and the Power Wagon, was no commuter vehicle what so ever. He finally settled into a long term position, drove the truck to his new residence and it has sat once again for about 10 years.
This year my brother was diagnosed with cancer and it has really taken it's toll on him. He has wanted to get the truck running and do some newer mods to it, so he could enjoy it once again. He is not mechanically inclined, so that went by the way side. I took matters into my own hands, had the truck shipped to me and decided to get it running. After sitting for 10 years, some fresh fuel, spark plugs, and a fuel filter, she was ALIVE AND KICKING!! I video'd the start up and first run for my brother, he was so excited, he burst into tears over the phone. It was then I decided that just getting it running was not enough for me.
So i resourced a 1992 Dodge W250 regular cab, 12V, long box, 4WD, that was loaded with all the power options and decided to do what my brother had always wanted to do - A 79 Power Wagon with with Dana 60's and a cummins.
I am new to the whole Dodge swap game, but have done a few other projects. So please be patient with me, as I will be asking a few questions along the way. I plan on posting lots of pics of the journey, please sit back and enjoy the show!!
I always appreciate constructive feedback and assistance!
Happy 4th of July weekend, TO ALL!
