Injectors clogged or what??

Well my dad and I (he payed for it) just bought a 93 w250 auto truck. DON'T ask about it becuase we don't know what were doing with it yet

But when it starts it white smokes for 10 seconds but runs perfect, nice smooth rattle and nice turbo whistle BUT it idles high. It "runs" ok i guess for a bone stock truck but lol its still slow. 175k miles on the truck

Would clogged up dirty stock injectors make it idle high in park??

It is cold outside, a little white smoke is not uncommon. As long as it fires right up it's fine.

Is it idling smooth or rough/loping?

Might just have sticking linkage holding the lever off the adjustment screw.

perhaps the previous owner adjusted it or the lock nut is not tight and allowed it to move out of adjustment.

No lopey idle, it runs perfectly smooth, i actually think its the best running one ive ever heard ,

HOWEVER upon going outside and flooring it it "breaks up" at a quickWOT shot of the pedal sitting still but just a little breaking up but its noticeable by the exhaust pitch. I didnt even check the throttle cable adjustment.

I was thinking maybe the power screw is tweaked but it doesnt smoke and its slow.

Look to see if the throttle lever touches the low idle screw at idle.

Breaks up at high RPM? Only with a cold engine or even when warmed up?

I just went out there and did it again. i let it idle for about 5 minutes and it runs fine all the way up to WOT. sorry about that

it just idles so stinkin high!!! I can hook our factory tach up to it tomorrow and see what its idling at RPM wise.

On a 93 the dealer tach is just plug and play right?

The throttle lever touches the low idle screw at idle, i have no idea how we're going to get to that idle screw though . i can't remember how you did it.

Thanks,
- Brandon

Yes, if you have a factory tach it will plug in.

See the sticky for pics of my bent wrench.

There's a very good reason for that: 'cause it wasn't there. Sorry about that.

It's there now, though.
