Injector washers and idle

Finally got around to swapping out the .060 washers on the POD`s with some .020`s. Idle haze is alot less, and funny thing I swear it`s running smoother, especially at idle. Also the idle speed is definitely a bit higher (no tach, but I have a good ear). Could just changing the depth of the injector by .040 make a difference in how the engine runs...or am I imagining things? I made no other changes other than the washers.

Well, it raises the compression ration a tiny bit!! I guess the spray pattern for the POD's is optimized for the position the nozzles are in with .020" washers...
That does it, I HAVE to put those thin dudes in there on mine also.

I'm stuck with the .060 adapter sleeves. It got warm yesterday and I ticked some people off with the haze, that's for sure[laugh]

The 0.020's put the spray pattern more in the bowl and less on the top of the piston.

Where would someone go about getting these .020 washers? Sounds like a great thing to try with my truck. I have had an idle hase ever since I installed these horrible injectors. (Really need to just bite the bullet and buy some EDM's)[guitar]

Can get the whole washer setup and the coppers for the return lines from your local pump shop or cummins dealer they come in a kit with a whole bunch of stuff you don't need. Jethrro

Tell them you need a Cummins B&C injector install kit.
