injection pump/side cover gasket ????need alittle help.

So I'm going to try an replace the side cover gasket it's well over due. I understand everything else the one thing that is stumping me.I'm leaking like a gallon every week in a half. So i figure this would be a great time for valve adjustment .What i have left is the side cover. I wish i would have done it when i had the injection pump replaced but the leak wasn't so bad it's really bad now .Anytime I've had to replace anything gasket wise I've always used cummins gaskets. For example if u get the felpro valve cover gasket they feel weak compared to the cummins gray gaskets are a lot tougher pretty close in price too... sorry i will stop I'm getting off topic If anyone know were i can get a 47rh I'm looking for one please let me know
thank you

Do I need to place the motor on TDC &press the timing pin in to remove the injection pump?

Can i just pull the pump were is like it is.... sorry I'm not much of a writer not my strongest area writing...

john
thank you all for your help...

Yes, you can pull the pump off where it is. Make sure you lock the pump in position or it will be a pita to get the keyway back into place with the pump gear. To lock the pump just remove the crows foot and hand tighten the bolt.. don't over do it.
