ignition switch.

i need to know if my switch is hooked up correctly. looking at the back of the switch the first wire on the right is red. that is the constant hot. when i turn the key on all the others get hot... except the third in from the right. a black with pink/red stripe it only gets up to .6 volts. this wire runs to the circut board for the power windows and the a/c fan... any idea what is going on? this is the second replacement ignition switch so that shouldn't be the problem, anyone have a wiring diagram for this! it's on my 91 thanks!

ok, so i checked on my 92 and all the wires accept the last one (yellow) have full voltage when the key is on. the yellow activates the starter. the black w/red wir and pink/black stripe position 3 and 4 from right to left don't give me any voltage when the key is on from the 91... any idea what the heck is going on... i think i am gonna try getting another switch from the store.... if i use a jumper wire everything works.... i am thinking it has to be the switch.

The non-tilt switch won't fit. There are two constant - hot wires going to the switch, perhaps one of them is dead?

also... is there anything wrong with putting in an inline fuse instead of a fusible link?

My diagram is for a '93 so it may be different. One is pink with a black stripe, and one is red.

The idea behind a fusible link is to get you to fix the problem rather than putting a new fuse in. Fusible links usually don't blow unless there is a serious problem.
