I need help

About 3 weeks ago I was driving and my truck and it sputtered a little bit and just died. I was thinking that it was the shutoff solenoid so I bought one and replaced it, but it did not fix the problem. I thought that maybe I got a bad part so I took the plunger out and tried to start it and nothing. I checked the lift pump and it is working good. I am getting fuel to the injector pump, but I am only getting fuel to two cylinders very spuratically. I am thinking that it is a bad injector pump. However I know the PO and he says the pump is less than a year old. I have a buddy that recently p-pumped his 1st gen and will sale me his pump for cheap. So I will probably buy it and put it on to see if it will fix it. I hate to keep throwing money at it cause I don't have much time or money to spare. I could really use some advice and help so anything is appreciated.

start by checking the fuel filter and lift pump, the ve's are a tough pump and they can suck there own fuel, just a little bit, then if its still doing the same maby go to the shop that rebiult it and see if you can get any warrity, usaly a rebiuld pump is good for a years warrity, try taking the plunger out of the electric cylinoyed and putting just the top peise back in, i know that fixed my problem awhile back

I took the plunger out and still wasn't getting any fuel. I don't know whats going on. I will have to see if they will warranty it. I've checked everything leading up to the injector pump so thats why I'm thinking it is the IP.
