I had to put a pull cable in and I hate it!!!!!

Whatever means of shut-down you employ, be aware that anything that does not keep the VE-pump in SHUT-OFF position will allow the engine to "bump start", should it be nudged possibly by another vehicle, causing a run-a-way; or, worse yet, you are messing around under the hood and accidentally turn over the engine, either electrically or mechanically.


All of which is why big trucks are ALWAYS left parked in NEUTRAL and why I have a locking feature on any kill-cable I install.

Hydraulic-braked vehicles lack the lock-down abilities of an air-brake system, necessitating the engine be left "in gear" whenever the truck is parked in a possible roll-away position, hence the locking kill-cable.

Thanks for the warning but my truck is auto so that won't really matter but that is good thinking
