I Am Torn Apart Right Now!!!
So about a week ago i decided to put my truck up for sale cause i wanted to get into a newer truck and now that i have had a couple offers and one guy offered me actually wat i wanted to hear but i honestly cant say yes to the offer, it took me 2 years to find the truck and 2 years to build it the way i wanted it plus the 5 years before all this of dreaming of owning this truck and i cleaned it all up and it looks perfect. i honestly cant say yes to the offer im torn apart inside THIS IS MY DREAM TRUCK!!!! i have wanted this truck since i was 11 and im now 19 would a 2nd gen really be worth it??? wat do you guys think
What the heck dude, keep it. Sounds like your mind is made up already. When it comes to things like this, all you'll do is kick yourself for selling it. The worst thing of all is if you sell it local to a local yocal. Everyday when you drive through town and see it you will want to drive your second gen off a cliff.
PS. If its the one in your avatar NO WAY IN HELL. Sell drugs or something, but keep the truck.

yes its the one in my avator there is better pics of it in the classified but honestly i dont know wat to do this is a hard hard decision i had every intention of selling it when i put it up for sale but now i dont know if i can
I'd say keep it I am around the same age and I have wanted my truck since about 10-11 also and personally if it is your dream truck then don't sell it. If you have put all of that work into it, and your happy with it then why sell it? I don't think that a second gen would be better personally. I'm over here in Scottsdale and you don't see many first gens around, even in Mesa for that matter. Just my 2 cents
thats a sweet truck i would not sell it
, and if you d like the second gen motor better you can always put on in. there not two bad my brother just finished puting a 96 motor in his 90, it will be up and running as soon as i finish building his tranny for him. lol
just enjoy it, you built it you play with it

Ive seen you around town in that truck and there is no way in hell id sell it. There are not many trucks that clean around, so you would be hard pressed to find another like it. Keep it and take out a loan!
i say it depends on what "i wanted to hear" was.... lol in my book everything is for sale at the right price! but you better believe to get my 4x4 it'd take an offer i wouldn't expect from anyone. from your comments alone i'd say you've made up your mind, just feel bad having to go back to the person that made the offer and tell them no deal!
Keep it dude, you'll hate yourself for selling it and more than likely be back looking for another 1st gen. If you like it and enjoy driving it, why the heck would you sell it? I plan on buying a newer truck (97 ext cab 4x4 auto) in the next few years but I'm only going to do it when I know I have the cash to keep my ol' girl and still have the newer truck. That way I can put a few bucks into it and get it to what I want, more or less a project truck really.
I laugh at the guys with the brand new LOADED CTDs, Dmaxes, PSDs all with lifts and nice tires when I go sledding in BC. Here I am with a truck that does the same job, costs less to run, doesn't dent my wallet with a $600+ a month payment AND gets more compliments and nods
. I guess some guys just like ludicris amounts of debt
. Either way my 93 will leave me with more cash to go sledding

Personally I'd never trade it for a second gen
they are highly over priced and not as reliable as the third gens. They also do not have the amenities available on a 3rd gen.
You have my number

I wouldn't mind being buried in that one it looks so nice.
I would never sell that. If you want a newer one you may have to save for a while and keep the old one. It is better to have two trucks anyways.

If your getting a good dollar for the thing I would sell it in a heartbeat.
At best it would be 13 to 14 years old, parts will start to wear out and used parts will become rare. My '93 carried me all over the place for 10 years. It was a great truck, always started and got good fuel economy. But, it was starting to wear out. Clutch packs in the rear limited slip were gone, backing plate for rear drum was cracked where the ebrake cable went in, ebrake cable rubbed through on one of the hangers, yolk on the rear diff worn in such a way the cups on the rear u-joint would slide from side to side, cracks in the truck box and cab, dog tracking down the road, rear seal failure on the transfer case, speedo sensor failures, Uncomfortable seat, rough ride, and the final nail in the coffin... My daughter Emily.... There was simply no room for the two adults and the two car seats in a regular cab pickup.
I can now enjoy going for a drive with the family. I can listen to the radio and I don't feel the need to soak in a tub after a short drive (that truck was ROUGH! Good thing I was young when I bought it) While I do still have maintaince to take care of, I am not into swapping major components on a bi monthly basis.
Never think your vehicle is "forever". Chances are something will come along to change that be it an accident, change in lifestyle, maintaince taking over, or a simple desire to be more comfortable.
I thought my '93 was forever. With me it lasted 10 years and 240,000 Km and it was worn out. I will also admit it didn't have an easy life. It spent quite a bit of it's time running around off road with an 8foot slide in camper in the back (I had the whole package air born once. Flying down a logging road I hit a hump where they had just buried a new culvert (drain pipe) I felt the truck lift, then the camper pulling the truck up more)
I do miss the old truck, the last model that had powerwagon blood in it. I do enjoy being in my new truck more though... I really like the four "real" doors without having the wheelbase of a crew cab pickup. The conveniance is remarkable.
