Hydroboost conversion questions.

I am planning on a 2nd Gen hydroboost conversion in my '85 CrewCab.

I sourced a unit from a 2000 Dodge.

The question I have, for you guys that have done this conversion, is: Do I need to use the proportioning valve from the 2000 donor or will my current unit work? (its from a 1991.5 W250).

Thanks

I believe if you keep with disc front and rear drum on both rigs, you can re-use the valve.
Since I believe disc braked rear axles began in the 2001 year, as I know my old '01 had a Dana 80 with discs, you should be all set.

Thats why I wanted a 2000 donor. It's the same hydraulics as the Road Tractor.

I don't care for those later Dodge hydroboost. They stand off the firewall several extra inches, and are rotated.

I'm playing with 80's Chevy ones (mocked up, not fully installed) and if I were to start over, would be trying 92-98ish Chevy as they have a nice flat mounting plate.

i plan to delete that bracket on the firewall side of the Hydro in favor of a flat steel plate and make an adjustable pushrod. I also bought the adapter fittings to go from the oring tube to JIC #6. And I'll make my own pressure hoses.

I have this part of the project done with great success. I'll post the process on the RoadTractor build thread directly.
