I was pulling a trailer today that weighs about 5000#s and my pyro was reading 1050 post turbo. I was on flat ground and going about 65 my tack was at 2000 my boost was at 10 to15.
so what do you think am i runnig to hot or right on?
thanks, joe

i'd say your a little on the hot side for post turbo, I don't let mine get up to 1000 for very long, for extended periods of time I don't let it run over 900. On flat ground with a trailer I run at 800.
I think that you might have a boost leak, or a dirty aftercooler. Or maybe you were just pulling a barn door sideways down the road. The temp seems high for the driving conditions, and the boost seems low for the temps --
Do you know if you have the 18.5 or the 21 cm turbo housing? Either way, switch to a 16, 14, or 12 would help your temps at 2000 rpm. 65 is below 2000 rpm in overdrive in my truck, BTW. What axle ratios do you have, and what gear were you running in?

my truck is a littel muddy so maybe the after cooler is dirty
and how do i find out what size my housing is i think it is the 18.5. i was running in 5th and about 65 to 70 i am not sure my speedo hasnt worked since i got the truck so i go off of the factory tack. no i was not blowing smoke other than black on take off as usual
. i will get some pics when the truck is clean and it is not rainning.

Yep. If you're young and flexible, crawl up on the fender so you can see the back of the housing. A flashlight helps. If you can't get up there, use a mirror. A 21 cm housing has "21" cast into it, and 18.5 cm has "18".
You won't gain any power, but you will get quicker spool-up so the truck will feel better off the line. You will also get lower EGT without having to turn the pump down. You should see 30 psi of boost with the 16 cm housing.
Installing the 16 cm housing is easy, it's getting the old housing off that's difficult. It's a Saturday morning job, say 3-4 hours since it's your first.
