i'd say your a little on the hot side for post turbo, I don't let mine get up to 1000 for very long, for extended periods of time I don't let it run over 900. On flat ground with a trailer I run at 800.

I think that you might have a boost leak, or a dirty aftercooler. Or maybe you were just pulling a barn door sideways down the road. The temp seems high for the driving conditions, and the boost seems low for the temps --

Do you know if you have the 18.5 or the 21 cm turbo housing? Either way, switch to a 16, 14, or 12 would help your temps at 2000 rpm. 65 is below 2000 rpm in overdrive in my truck, BTW. What axle ratios do you have, and what gear were you running in?

Higher rpm should have lowered the exhaust temps, but the boost does seem very low for the temps.

Were you blowing a bunch of smoke?

got any pics of the $400 truck? I got mine for $500, but i think it was worth it. I think your intercooler is leaking and you should sell it to me.

The truck should have a 21 cm housing if nobody changed it.

24 psi is very good boost for a 21 cm housing.

Yep. If you're young and flexible, crawl up on the fender so you can see the back of the housing. A flashlight helps. If you can't get up there, use a mirror. A 21 cm housing has "21" cast into it, and 18.5 cm has "18".

You won't gain any power, but you will get quicker spool-up so the truck will feel better off the line. You will also get lower EGT without having to turn the pump down. You should see 30 psi of boost with the 16 cm housing.

Installing the 16 cm housing is easy, it's getting the old housing off that's difficult. It's a Saturday morning job, say 3-4 hours since it's your first.
