How Much?

I found a 91 2wheeldrive 5speed with122k and it is in showroom condition/1owner. Not a scratch and the interior is like new and has new radials. White in color.
How much is it worth or how much will it bring?
Thanx

Anything is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it. What does KBB say about our trucks? I'd start there, because they don't take into account personal preferences/sentimental attachments/opinions/urban myths or legends etc. Obviously, most of us would be prepared to pay more than what the truck is necessarily worth because we think our trucks are the best. A powerjoke lover isn't going to pay as much, or anything at all are they?
Have a look on craiglook and see what people are asking for their trucks. I've seen anything from $4500 to $14500 for a mint 1st Gen. What they actually sell for is another story. And I personally wouldn't pay $14500 for a 1st gen. That's ridiculous money for a nearly 20 year old vehicle. Oh sure, newer vehicles don't have the character or cool factor, but how much do you pay for that? There's still good deals to be had out there. Just guessing, without having seen any pictures or knowing much about the one you're looking at, I'd say no more than $7500, cash.

I gave $4,200 for this one, but had to go from ILL to CT to get it, and then get some under the table back woodsey title works done, so all together $4,900 or so just as it sets. 127,000 miles loaded. i did put the bar on the front and the stickers. and some performance stuff.

Yeah, his truck is sweet. Did you fab the bar on the front or actually purchase it? The lights look perfect too. What kind are those?

My observations from over the years since the birth of the internet:

Things don't always sell for the asking price nor does that always make all of the same item worth the asking price. A good salesman can make you think something is worth more than it actually may be. A specialized internet forum for that specific item can be a salesman's best tool.

This pertains to cars, trucks, old radios, phonographs, tools, and tractors along with many other specialty items. In general I have seen a lot of folks supplementing their incomes by buying things at local flea market prices and reselling it on forums loaded with treasure hunters looking for that item.

To me an 89-93 Dodge pickup truck is just a Dodge pickup truck. If it has a Cummins diesel in it it is worth an average of $1500 more than a equally compatible Dodge pickup truck with a gasoline engine in the same local condition.

Although I think you're pretty much right, the problem with our trucks is their reputation that nearly everyone knows about. It's rare to find someone who doesn't think one of these trucks is worth it's weight in gold just because of it's reputation. At least in my experience. I've seen diesel first gens selling for 4-5k where it was in such bad shape I doubt the owner could get $500 for it if it was a gasser. Pretty annoying if you ask me.

Thanks guys for the kind words, as far as the bar i had a guy i work with just bend me a u-shape out of tubbing that he builds dirt car frames out of and i cut it on the bottom so it would kinda stick out some then welded studs on the bottom and used two of the holes that the plastic bumper cover uses cents i dont have one. then i put it in the oven and warmed it up and painted it with the spray can bed liner and it lookes great. the lights came from harber-freight about 8 yrs ago for $12.00, i have looked there to get some more but they dont have them anymore.

I gave too much for my 91 d350 w/160,k,it has the usual dings, chips ,dry weather strips, and small dodge habits. Some folks say "it's to long ,to blue,to anything" ,but it's all mine & the only like in the universe.....and that's what us folk's different .BUY THE TRUCK----- I'm with KD93 it sounds worth it.
