How fast is "H" on the speedo?
Mine's rock solid at 70 - 80 mph
Holds any line you set the steering wheel at.
Just don't do more than tap the brakes to release CC
The smallest pressure on the brakes to scrub speed and you'd better have a death grip on the steering wheel....
And what's maddening as he-double-L is it does the same thing to a lesser degree at lower speeds.
A complete front end rebuild - over $1800 - cured the problem
for about 1000 mi, then it started creeping back in.
MY '81 and '87 did it also, just not as bad. Course they both had a 440 transplanted into it. I suspect it has something to do with the extra weight on the front end.
That 440 weighed a few lbs more than the 318 or 360 that was in there originally.
Not as much as the Cummins in ours - that's a LOT of weight on the front end...

Well ----
I know one thing that's on my 'to do' list that might be causing it.
The PO used the emergency brake as a parking brake. So now the rears are egg shaped.
But yes, one end does dive before the other - except mine squats in the rear under hard braking, then levels out and starts the wobble. It's definitely weight transfer that's causing it. And 'one day' I'll replace the rear cylinders w/1 ton units and new drums and shoes. Then we'll see if it goes away or continues.
I don't get the wobble under severe hard braking, all 4 wheels grab super hard if I put my foot into it.

Same here new rotors, nice stopping. . . .
BTW. that little pedal next to the drivers door is a PARKING BRAKE not an emergency brake. Though if you stomp it at 70 it may cause an emergency.

If I crank on the e-brake at 70, nothing noticible changes. Gotta do that rear disc conversion.
The only thing they didn't replace was the axle and frame

Since then all I developed over the last 25K is a shimmy. Time to check the tie rod ends next time I lube them.
Check the frame for cracks really well around the steering box. Mine was feeling a little loose, and the frame was cracked 1/3 of the way down, and the steering box mounting bracket was badly cracked also...
I had mine up to about 100 for a couple miles last winter, it felt nice an steady at that speed. Didn't feel like I was going anywhere near 100. We had just spent a couple hours at the ND/Canadian border giving a trucker a little fuel and jump start. I was trying to keep up with him on the way back to the next gas station!
