hot wiring ve pump
Just got a wrecked 90 I bought home, the tilt steering wheel is broken off at the column, nothing is working electrical, I am not going to fix the truck, the motor is going into my f-650 dump to replace the gas hog 370 that's currently there. I can get it to crank over by hot wiring but which of the two electrical leads coming off the ve pump is the selenoid to jumper for fuel turn on.

The start run shutdown solenoid behind the afc housing ontop/rear of the pump, directly above the fuel lines.

Thanks, right now I'm trying to get the radiator out so I can hear the engine if it starts, the fan is fouling the radiator. It was a front corner hit, shoved the radiator sideways more than back, but back just far enough to hit the fan. The enormous throttle bracket is keeping me from getting to the plug on the shutoff selenoid, trying to see the wire color so I can tap in farther upstream.

Just pull the plug off, put a regular female spade terminal on a piece of wire, and jump straight to the battery. That way you don't have to worry about backfeeding into something that may be shorted and making things worse by burning the wreck down.
|
Take a chain hoist or a come a long and pull the radiator support out of the day. that way it can run for a little. Theres a pic in my gallery of the solenoid if your having truble finding it.
