Hope someone has a clue!

Posting for a buddy. His is a stock '93 2500 4X4 AT. 3.54 gears.

After a 12-15 minute warm up, he left for his first stop. About 3.5 miles. It trailed blue smoke all the way there. ( not normal for this one ) Temperature was around 50°. After that stop, no more smoke. This leg involves some interstate travel. It would run about 70 MPH flat out. He has run it 90-95 MPH at will in the past.
We didn't see any wires that had fallen off. We took the air intake boot off the turbo and it seems perfect. After letting it sit 5 hours, he started it and it had the normal puff when it fired, and nothing unusual after that. Hasn't been back on the road yet.....

Does anybody have any ideas on this?

Change the fuel filter, check for fuel leaks in the suction side of the fuel system.
