I was reading the old posts and thought I had read that 92 was the last year that the infamous Ram hood ornament was factory installed...reason I ask is I have one on my 93....can someone clarify this please?

 

I believe the Non Intercooled versions were the last to recieve the hood ornament. I know my 92 does not have one and shows no signs of ever having one. Maybe the owner before you put an aftermarket ram head on ???

 

I agree, the hood ornaments were left off when the inter-cooler was put in.

 

That's what I was thinking...that maybe the previous owner put the ornament on..I just put a new one on that my wife got me last Xmas...(she was preparing for the inevitable I spose).......the holes in the hood looked kinda rough for a factory job...we'll see how long this one last's....

 

I bought my truck new in Jan. of '93 and it did not have a hood ornament. I tried the front end of a Nissan on as a hood ornament in August of 2001 but it was hard to drive and see ;D ;D ;D. A young lady slept through a stop sign but woke up when I took the front end of her Nissan off ;D. No one was hurt but if she had been 1 or 2 seconds faster I probably would have killed her - no seat belt &gt;<br>Bob

 

My 90 hood never had one, can't say the hood is original, but looks to be

 

my brother's 89 has one, have to check if there's holes in dad's 90, there's no ornament on it anymore.

 

My dad's 90 has one. My 93 also has one???? I don't know the history though.

 

i have 92 4x4 3/4 ton and guess what? i have the ram on my hood. want one where eyes glow in dark. its intercooled also

 

My 92 did not,I think it had to do if it was like(by todays standard) a SL or SLT

Just my guess ???

I believe they were an option and/or part of a option package. even the years previous to the Cummins came with or without.

 

I have one in place of my gearshift **** on the 5spd,not quite sure what package that was ;D ;D ;D

This was an option on our trucks, as I have the window sticker from my 89, (somehow my uncle saved it,) and it was like a $50 option if memory serves me correct.

I had a 91, 92, and now a 93 Dodge pickup and non of them had hood ornaments when I got them. I obtained them from the Dodge dealer for $59 each back in the early 90s.
