Hood ornament

I ordered a hood ornament on eBay Just wondering if anyone has any doos and don’ts for me so I don’t screw up

The base and the animal are a unit. IIRC, its two 7/16" stamped-steel nuts that secure it through the hood. Don't over-tighten... those nuts just carve their own threads in the pot metal studs.

Hood ornament/ bug deflector

Thanks for the tip . Also can anyone tell me where I can find a cool 1992 era bug deflector

If you mean 92 Dodge... you're actually wanting an 80's era bug deflector. :D My Dad had one of these on his square-body chevy...

My 93 had an OEM dealer bug deflector, looked cool and all but it messed with the air hitting the windshield and created a dead/low pressure area near the bottom of the windshield that would collect debris on the wiper blades, then when you DID need to use the wipers it would smear and grind across the windshield.....I removed it shortly after that. ;)

Well I have driven my truck without both....but the bug deflector was a lot easier to deal with. ;)
