Unhappy Help, Broke Turbo Clamp, Take a Look

While taking apart the turbo assembly I went to take off the compressor clamp. The clamp was tough to get off. The little 7/16th nut was very hard to turn, so hard in fact that the stress from turning it snapped the bolt. This is a real bummer!

Just wondering where I can find one? What’s the name of this so I can call around? If worst comes to worst I’ll try and weld it back together but with the nut being so darn difficult still it might break again!

Any stores around with something like this? I doubt it. If you know of a place on line please direct me to it! Thanks so much,

Regards
Tom

HTT would be the first place I would call for the whole clamp. I doubt you will find one local.

If you go to a truck parts shop you will be able to find clamps that use the same style T-bolt, you can probably replace the bolt without mangling things too badly.

Thanks! So far so good... I was able to take the exhaust housing off with no trouble at all.. the other one is on, and about to bolt it to the exhaust manifold and start on the compressor.

Darn it! That darn clamp... Strange, all the hard things were easy and the easy things hard.

Thanks again.

You should be able to find one at a local big rig shop and any Case or New Holland dealership as those tractors runs Holset turbos as well. Those are just some alternate places to look locally.

I did that once and I ended up TIG welding it back together. Held up fine.

Oh Yes, Aromas! Wonderful place filled with rolling hills and Oak trees and away from Canna Screwz..... I mean Santa Cruz. A place unto its own.

Only problem? They have a small earthquake at least once a week. Or is it the horses running on the farms! I love them horses.

Happy Thanksgiving!
