HEAVY Hauls......
I crossed the scales at Conservit Inc total gross weight at 27,700lbs. My trailer is a 24k Eager Beaver. Dont ever want to tow that kind of weight again. Felt like I was beating on it. I dont like that feeling. Couple times I have hauled Crown SC forklifts in the bed of my truck. They are just over 7k. Thats why I bought my Eager Beaver. To tow and not haul scrapped forklifts from work. The trailer alone weighs over 8,000lbs. But the trailer and truck have paid for themselves. How many people can say that.
I used to routinely gross combined 23,000lbs hauling two old John Deere's. Never liked being that heavy, can't stop it too well and tire's don't last long either. Went to a bigger truck for the stopping reason and we weren't comfortable hauling the bigger tractors.

I pulled across the public scales here in Gonzales at 24,400 lbs. with a 38' cloverleaf gooseneck with a ford tractor with a bucket and a shredder. I dnt like pullin heavy stuff with my stock autotragic tranny.
Usually when I pull it's right around 22-23000 and have yet to downshift for a hill, but I do stay in 4th when pulling. Trailer has good brakes so I usually set the controller to make sure the trailer does a vast majority of the stopping.
Yes sir, the D we used a 3 ton wench and a D8 Cat to get it loaded (think something for the salvage yard) took a year, went all the way down, every single bolt and part.
the 520 was a usable tractor but still needed quite a bit of work, it is like a brand new one mechanicly and way way better than new paint and body.
i have done 14 in all with one more to do and thats it i am burnt out on it.
