heater issue's

Hey all,

my heater is having some issue's in my truck heating. I'll have it idling in the morning, turn on the heater and nothing. So i start driving a couple of mile and it'll kick on, but when it's on high it blows like it's on low so i think it might have something to do with the fan, i don't know where the fan is either.

Any help is appreciated.

Garrett

The fan is on the heater box in the engine compartment on the firewall passenger side.

-pull the motor and see if it spins freely. replace if too much friction.
-hook it up to a battery to see if you get full speed
-if the motor works good on the battery then check the resistor pack
in the hvac box behind the glovebox (glovebox door removes easily for access)

When you mean "blow heat", do you mean:

1) No matter the position of the damper selection (ie, A/C, Heat, Defrost, Vent), there is nothing blowing
2)It blows out air but cold air until moving
3) It uses the defrost but then switches to the bottom vents for "heat"

well its basically none of those. It'll change the temp went changing the damper position, but the switch for the speed, i replaced it, but it doesn't matter what i set it to hi or low it stays at about medium to low tempurature. Everything else works, when i put it from defrost to vent it will change, but it won't blow until i start going and it stays at about medium to low as i already stated.
