I've got a murray which looks to be a relabeled specrum 399132 or muray MHT 94619.

It appears the inlet/outlet is over a couple inches. Looks like the bends are right, but that when soldered together parts weren't held at the right place.

It's aluminum- what are did you order if you replaced yours recently?

From O'rileys?
Just curious, as to you and the folks that have had to replace theirs, what did the old, factory had one look like? Of course the obvious are leaks, but were the pipes corroded and what else?

Reason I ask, is because I filter my coolant, and would like to know if filtering would slow down the inevitable. I know on the powerstrokes, 7.3 model, there is discussion about remnants of sand from the castings that wipe out the water pump. I filter that cooling system as well, and have torn into the used filters and found sand. Not sure about the Cummins, though.

I have never really had any debris in my coolant. The only issue I had was scale from the PO using tap water.

I forgot to mention, awhile back, probably back in 2015, I replaced the three freeze plugs that runs alongside the passenger side of the block, beneath the exhaust manifold. I remember looking at that cavity, and it was nasty with sludge and chit. Looking back on my maintenance notes, I had let my coolant run for two years, way past it's maintenance of flush and refill. My filter was plugged up, also(bypass set up). Note to self- replace religiously after 12,000 miles
