Just completed install last night. The orange and red and orange and white need to be connected together, the orange and white wire is smaller gauge and on my truck it is the feedback for dash high beam indication. The white violet is my low beam. I hope this helps.

OTBW I installed silver stars, My lighting on low and high is awsome
Thanks WANNA!!!!!

Thanks Wanna!!
My headlights have been pathetic since I bought my ride and your idea solved that problem. It only took about 2hrs to get the job done and hide most of the new wiring. Now I can see!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are the Silverstars available in a sealed-beam, or did you convert to the conversion housings with seperate elements??

If conversions, which did you use.

Thanks.

Thank you.

Do these Silverstars have a defining logo/identification that can be seen from the face, when installed??

I am definitely getting a pair for my Ford.

I just looked at Advance Auto and they have them for $19.88 each; is this price in line with other stores??

Also, I see that the same number fits either Ford or Dodge; I thought they might.

The wife's Dodge has about the brightest headlights I have ever driven in the dark and I really don't want to buy her a set and then find out she already has them.

I have looked her light wiring over, trying to see if the previous owner could possibly have already done the relay-install/headlight-mod; but, if he has, I can find no evidence of it.

Thanks.

I don't suppose there's anyway this mod helps with the headlights dimming when the grid heaters cycle does it?

Thanks!

I am on a few jeep boards (square healight XJs and YJs run the same size as our trucks) and am ordering a set of these to try.
http://stores.ebay.com/Autopal-Light...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

There were some good things to say about them on the site. The European bulb pattern is supposed to be nicer than the DOT ones we have in the US. For the price I would rather buy these than silver stars. Since these are housings that take H4 bulbs you can easily replace or try new bulbs.

I will probably upgrade to 55/100w bulbs later on since I do lots of driving in the sticks. They are still 55w on lowbeam but on high they really light up the night.

Here is the thread with some more talk on these housings on NAXJA where I found it.

Nope. That's strictly an issue of the grids taking more than the alternator and battery output.

No. But if you pull the headlight out it will have "SS" inked on top.

Question I Have The Hood Up And Wires Strung Out As We Speak

I was examining one of my 30amp relays and discovered that the 87 and 87a terminals do not feed across with no switch-power to the relay.

Could not I connect the low-beam wire to 87a and high-beam wire to 87, on the High-Beam relay, and get both, high and low, when the highs are selected??

Of course, the low-beams on DIM would be wired normally through a low-beam relay.

Will this work??

I may answer my own question before tonight.

Low beams would be on whenever the battery was connected except when you turned on the high beams. 30 connects to 87a and 87. 87a is the NC position, 87 is the NO position. Make sense?
