to the head timing???

yesterday i advanced my pump all the way... i have heard a lot of good results from doing this, but it killed mine... i fell like i lost a lot of power and it droped my max boost about 15 psi... also when using the water/meth i can barly fell any power as before it would set you back in the seat. for now i am going to put it back down, but does anyone know why me results are so different? is it just my set up? is there a setting that i should be set too? let me know...thanks guys

Sounds like it was too much. There is a lot of variation in the position of the pump at stock timing, some of them are further out from the head than others.

Most guys running the pump up against the head have POD's. They are nasty slobbering injectors with the wrong spray pattern so they like lots of timing - but they make a lot of power for very little money.

I wouldn't run that much timing with water meth. water meth advances the timing even more. head gaskets will suffer with to much timing and lots of fuel and high boost. is your bucking like johns?

PS. don't believe him I didn't give him that idea .like wanna said diff . pump sit on the engine diffrantly

yes it will hop and skip i advanced mine a tooth and it did alright but then i did injectors really big ones so it balanced out, then the gasket blew and then oringed now no worries but yes wanna is definetly right the stock timing differed so it could have been to much timing, you just need some sticks and your good

Your boost will go down but the top end will scream, rpm wise, especially if you have a gov. spring.
Like wanna said, on some trucks it is too much.
You didn't happen to break the afc boost tube in the process did you?
