That is correct.

He341 and he351 both share the same outlet. The only difference is the removeable cast downpipe coming off the turbo. In 04.5 it was changed to a 4" elbow.

There are the he341 and he351 wastegated 03-07 turbos. I beleive there is also a he431 or he451 wastegated turbo as well. Wish I could find one of those.

Then there is the he351ve as found on the 6.7l variable geometry
Then there is the he431ve found on larger air-brake trucks. Variable geometry as well.

i dont agree!! the compressor upgrade doesnt even compare to the 351
true they both have 60mm wheels but theres a whole lot more engineering in the 351!!!

Funny I have been meaning to post something about this for quite a while now. At work we have quite a few small IH trucks with a ISM in them and they have a he431 turbo with no VGT. They are wastegated and have a 4" exhaust, not sure what flange, but looks like the smaller T3 foot. I was thinking this would be an awsome turbo to try and swap onto my truck. Maybe HX40, but newer tech? I have the all the info from the plate somewhere if anyone has a way to decode it I will post it up. I will maybe try to get some pics of it at work next week if I remember.

Could be, but this is on the bigger truck engines like the HX40 was, so thinking that would be a closer cousin.

Ya, someone said the compressor is, or is very close to the Super Hx40. I'm guessing based on inducer/exducer (which I think is 60/60 or something)

That'd be appreciated DS79. I may have a way of finding out the info at school, 'cause we have IH software to play with for manuels etc. I'll have a look tomorrow and see what I find. This turbo sounds very interesting to me...

the 341 and the 351 would be an upgrade over the stocker. the thing will spool like crazy and is bigger than the stockers on the first gens the 351 is a little better but it isnt a ton better!

I will have to wait on posting the info. Looks like the wife finally threw the piece away, and I will not be at work till Thursday. I will try and remember to grab the info again, I am just as curious about this turbo and would like some more info on it as well.

I've heard of a P pumper doing a VGT twin set up with manual controllers controlling the vanes. I think it was a HE351 and an HE531.

You might want to talk to the fella's who have mounted the 351's on their trucks. I think they might disagree.

The International day cab trucks I drive at my part time job have M11s with the HE431 VGT turbos (06-08 models). Makes me think they are in the 300-340 hp range. It looks similar to the HX40s I've seen, except the exhaust housing is bigger, most likely for the VGT function. I think it'd be worth a shot to see what they'd do on a 5.9.
